Running Short or long?

Ok, right now, im pretty down on myself. At the end of the summer, i weighed 145 lbs and was 14.9% body fat. At the end of the fall, i weighed 146 lbs with 10.4% body fat. This was due to the off-season basketball workout and we ran 2 miles before practice every morning. I could bench 130 lbs back then. Well, now i can bench 155, yet i weigh 150 now, and i am much more chubbier than i use to be due to eating more and etc.... Well, i want to now get to down below 10% body fat. Im not sure what i am now, below 14%, but above 10%. So to ask the question. Is it better to run a mile? or two miles. If on the mile you run much quicker than the two miles. I believe my last mile time was around 6:40. My last 2 mile time was back in the fall and was 14.11. I want to get back to my fitness as quick as i can so i can feel good about my self again. PLease help.

distance is not important... at all...

Time is the key. Don't even bother tracking the distance. Track time and heart rate. Keep your heart rate in the 60-80% of max HR for 40-60 minutes.
