running question?

I'm new here so sorry if this is a stupid question. Why is it that somedays I absolutely have make myself finish my jog because I feel so cumbersome and others I feel like I'm an energized 10 year old? Is it my diet? Is there any high energy foods to make jogging a little more energized and pleasant?
thanks for any help

This happens to me and everyone else ... perfectly normal.

Is it my diet?

I don't know what your diet is. Is it heavy in sugar?

Just your normal, quality, nutritious foods that anyone would recommend. Stay away from any branded "energy" drinks. Oh and Welcome!

No, I eat very little sugary foods and no soft drinks. a typical day is wheaties (breakfast), protein bar(lunch) and then anything else for dinner.

so you eat almost nothing each day...that there is likely the problem...

describe anything else...is it junk food, pizza, hamburgers, healthy meals, liquid diet?

well, I eat out quite a variety of foods (mexican, pizza, salads). i love it all! I do not eat fast food often. I don't put unnecessary foods in my body. If I'm not hungry, I don't eat. I do try to make most of my daily diet low fat/low calorie foods. I try to make sure I have a grainy breakfast EVERY day. I know I don't eat as much veggies and fruit as I should :(

so I realize it maybe somewhat normal to be draggy but are there anything that works great for energy?

well you just stated it in a nut shell...you would probably benefit from eating an hour or 2 before your workout. Try eating something like a natural PB and jelly sandwich on whole wheat before your workouts and see if that helps.

There are so many factors which could be influencing your run, it's hard to tell without more information.

Variables such as diet, amount of sleep, stress, frequency, volume, and intensity all can play a factor.

How often are you running? Do you run on consecutive days? Is the intensity or volume changing between the runs?

In order to better understand the problem, start a journal and keep track of your workouts. This way you can say... THIS day was hard and you can look back through your journal and see if you can identify the source.
