running pushing yourslef?

Okay so at the end of my final quarter mile I sprint as fast as I can and push my slef as long as I can. I am wondering, should I push my slef always at the end of the run/walks or should I do them randomly inbettween?
 
If you are aiming to get better conditioning and cardiovascular strength then it's better to do them randomly inbetween the runs because it will keep your heart rate elevated for the whole run just like HIIT. As for fat loss, I don't know I'm afraid.
