what does everyone think is more effective for cardio running or swimming? i would have thought running myself but maybe swimming does more for the lungs since you hold your breath?

you dont hold your breath when you swim, you swim while you breath.

I think running is more taxing, but all things depend on effort exerted.

I believe you will get "the best" cardio, IN THE LONG RUN, from the one you enjoy more. then you will stick with it.

Why not do both?

im really trying to get back into running but i injured my quads as you know so i gave swimming a go yesterday. both are fun and good in their own way and doing both probably is best, however im more intersted in running at the moment especially since joining a club and will focus on that.
