I recently started running on a treadmill a few weeks ago. I was up to about 35 minutes and would start at 5.0 mph and end around 7 mph.
Well one day, I felt a "pop" in my calf muscle so i either strained it or slightly tore it. I've been holding off on my workouts a few days at a time, then itching to get back into it would try it again. After 20 or so minutes, the pain starts coming back and I quit before fully reinjuring it again. & finish off on the stair master.
Anyway, I love the treadmill and can get a really good sweat going at a 35 minute session.
I have finally realized that I'm going to have to quit the running till this thing fully heals and was thinking of trying an elliptical or stairmaster for a few weeks until I'm over this injury.
I want to keep excersising and was wondering about people's experiences with elliptical trainers. Can I get a similar workout in intensity. Ive tried them a little here or there and they seem to be easier than running. I'm going to go this weekend and try and do a full session.
Does anyone have any tips or suggested routines intensity, etc with the ellipticals.
thanks
