I'm curious to hear from other runners on their preference for listening to music during their runs. I'd also like to know how long you've been running for, what distances your runs usually consist of, and how many miles your putting up a week.
I don't listen to music anymore, though I used to all the time when I first started out which in retrospect was rather dangerous since I would run on the roads around my town. For me running is very meditative, helps to clear my mind and organize my thoughts. Without my music I'm left with just my thoughts and the rhythmic sound of my breathing. However, every once in awhile if I'm feeling very unmotivated to hit the trails I'll throw my ear buds on and listen to an enjoyable playlist.
I've been running for about 11 years now. I generally run 5-10 miles at a time when not doing speed workouts and put up about 25-30 a week.
