Running and doing weights

Hi guys, I was wondering, I'm looking to lose some fat in my waist and well body in general and gain something (getting it toned)
I was wondering if running + weights would be a good combination
I was thinking about 4 days running and 4 to 5 days gym
I would do like the first month just jogging like 30 to 45 mins since it's been 2 years since I've last ran and then later on I'll get more agressive at it and with weight lifting well, 4 sets of 12 reps seems like a good thing to get muscles defined, my goal is to get an athletic body not the big guy body or the really skinny lean guy body, just average trained body.. Question is, do you think my routines are good?
I know eating helps alot too and I will be eating pure protein with low carbs and alot of veggies, and I don't take any supplements like protein shakes or something of the kind..
Thanks in advance

You didn't really describe any routine. But your theories are solid on the running and reps for lifting.

On food I recommend with all that activity you go with a nice solid diet of about 1/3 good fats 1/3 good cars and 1/3 good protien. running a low carb diet with high activity can be quite uncomfortable.

Well the routine would be then like
Tuesdays a 30 to 45 min jog, then hit the gym and do chest and tricep
Wednesday just gym which would consist in focussing on legs with abdominal excercises and lower back
Thursday another jog same amount of time and gym which would be back and bicep
Friday another jog with gym which would be shoulders and traps with abdominal excercises and lower back
Saturday Maybe a day off or a circuit
Sunday if saturday is a day off it would be another jog and that's about it.

like I said, jogs just to start for first month then I would increase it once I notice my legs are used to it again, weight lifting would be 4 excercises important muscle groups 4 sets 12 reps like I said and second muscle group would be 2 excercises since the first group also works that one if you understand me..
But calf and traps are 6 sets with 12 to 15 reps.

Food was like, a good portion of fish, chicken breast, a good portion of veggies and brown bread, mashed potatoes, rice or pasta.

Is that better?
Thanks for the help !

Importance of exercise in our life. Running – This is also the easiest and pocket friendly exercise that helps you burn of fat and also to save the curves. Running improves blood circulation keeping health ailments at bay that occur due to poor blood circulation problem. Taking your don for a stroll also good. You can run with your pet (if you are really good in running) or simply step out of home with your partner and run together.

All i like from your post is that you know your true limitation. As you have said that you are out from running for last two years and now you are trying to start it in systematic way instead of rigorous way. Which is very good sign to me.

And i really like your routine. Keep it mind that getting a tone body is not easy and success would largely depends on how you implement your routine correctly. Just make sure you are regular and maintain it properly for at least one month

Revise your routine after one month in advanced way. This stage would be difficult for you but at the end of the day you would get more positive result at this stage. Follow this and hope so you would find the perfect tone body for yourself.
