Welcome! Maybe add some protein to some of your meals like a chicken breast, cottage cheese, egg whites, etc. Are you running cross country or track? Then the carb loading is probably not a bad thing. I ran cross country and was always eating pasta and high carb meals.

I runner track right now (about 40 miles a week)

I would like to give you advice but for the amount of running you do on a regular basis I don't feel like I can help! I'm not sure of the protein requirements for a distance runner. I think you're doing fine. You're eating good, whole foods.

Protein Boosts

I love to run, and I upped my protein intake like this:

-I hate the smell of egg whites, so I use egg beaters. It tastes like regular eggs (and has the familiar yellow color), but no fat/cholesterol. Also, they come in convenient single-serve cups.

-Yogurt has a surprising amount of protein: 6-8g for a 6-8oz cup, depending on variety.

-String cheese (specifically, mozzarella. They also have a reduced-fat version). A great salty kick.

Also, I went to a nutrition seminar for a Bio class of mine, and they suggested that the average American gorges on protein. This may not be your case, but I wouldn't advocate buying any protein supplements because if you're over what your body needs for protein on a particular day, you'll just urinate out the excess protein.
