It's been at least 3-4 years since I'd been on a treadmill but I thought the 30-40 mins of aerobic exercise I'd been doing every day for the past 4 weeks might help.

In the end I ran for a full 60 mins and covered 5.4 miles. I started to tire at about 50 mins but at that point I wasn't going to give up before the hour mark.

I'm amazed how quickly the body responds to exercise I'd done a few 10km fun runs and even a 10 mile but the last was 5 years ago.
 
Just followed up my treadmill run 2 days ago with a proper road run. Just completed a 3.36 mile in 39 mins (that's the distance from my house to my wife's parents'). Feel good, sweated buckets and now have a benchmark to beat. Will do it again in 2 days time. View attachment 20972
