Rowing machines and walking... Is this enough?

I have been trying to lose excess weight lately, so I've been doing a few things with my diet. I've increased my fibre intake, as well as how much water I drink. I also try to avoid sugar.
I have been using an exercise machine - a basic rowing machine - and I enjoy it. Sometimes I do up to 5,000 strokes on it a day. I don't know if this is really enough, so I also walk a few kilometers.

I need to work on my stomach and legs, fat-wise. Does anyone have any other exercises I can supplement this regime with? Because I'm not sure if it's enough.

Thanks.

Double check your diet. Increasing fibre wont hep if you are still eating way to many calories.
is a webpage on the basics. Keep up the good work with the rowing :)

Thanks for the advice. Before increasing my fibre intake, I watched my calories fairly carefully, but it didn't seem like enough to lose weight. The exercise is going well, though I may have overdone it yesterday. I'm also considering giving up caffeine.

The website was very helpful. Knowing my basal metabolic rate is a good thing. :D

Effective weight loss with exercise

I am trying to lose some weight myself and my focus is on the value of healthy nutrition, regular exercise and healthy daily habits as the key elements in shedding the pounds. So far I lost 30 lb in the period of 3 months.

My exercise choice is power walking (60 min). Walking will burn a lot of calories but won’t leave me drained. Biking and rowing are too.

And just remember that diet and exercise are like other important things in life: it takes time and sweat, but the result is well worth the effort!

Good Lack!

As a side note, if you like rowing, don't throw yourself back at the end of the row. Keep your back straight and sit up through the entire stroke, otherwise you can really irritate your lower back. I see so many people in the gym do the same thing, and I use to too, so that's why I'm mentioning it.
