Routine?

I know that everyone has a routine that they do at the gym...but I have read and been told that you should change your routine frequently so that you dont get bored and end up not going to the gym. I was just wondering what everyone's routine is so that I can have some ideas on how I could change up my routine...and maybe everyone else can read and keep theirs new as well.

This is my routine:
I start with 10 minutes on the excercise bike, then do my stretching. Then I usually do my weights (legs one day, arms the next day I go). Then I do at least 15 minutes on the elliptical. Then I head to the mat and do some wall sits and ab roller and do some more stretching. Then I head to the indoor track and walk/run it for 15 minutes or if I reach 1 mile (22 laps). Then i go home and relax haha...:) :)

I think thats a great workout sara. If anything, you could perhaps vary your intensity and duration from day to day. Maybe each day of the week focusing on one specific thing especially.

Hmmmm...I would suggest the same thing. Maybe do all your cardio on one day and your weights on another.
For example on day one, do your warm up and then stretch and if you'd like to the 15 min of elliptical and then head for the track or track first then elliptical, then your cool down and stretches. You might be able to go a little further on the track or elliptical or do it at a higher intensity of you leave your strenght training for the next day. KWIM?

My routine is a little different since I like to run. I alternate between long runs on one day and intensity (more like bursts, tempo runs etc)/strength training on another... I don't do weights alone because I need the milage.

=)

Hi,
Changing your routine is also important to prevent hitting a plateau. Our bodies are real good at adapting.

I also agree with the post above that doing weights on day and cardio the next may be beneficial for you.
