Sport Roasted nuts- Are they bad?

Sport Fitness
I have heard somewhere that roasting the nuts removes the healthy qualities. Is this true, because the natural pb i buy contains roasted nuts

As long as there not mine, we are all good :)

I like this guy, a dude after my own heart:

Nut knowledge :) Us men must have knowledge of our NUTS........HEHEHEHE ;)

Praise for Peanut Butter! Could life go on without peanut butter? Yes, but not as pleasurably!......(oh, this is about roasted nuts.....)

Roasted nuts are more flavorful and spoil less quickly, yet how they are roasted makes a big nutritional difference. Dry roasted nuts don't have any added fat. Oil roasted means the nuts are fried in oil, which adds around ten percent more fat calories to the nuts. This is no big deal unless the nuts have been roasted in saturated or hydrogenated fats (e.g. coconut oil); check the label. An increase in saturated fats lessen the nut's main nutritional claim to fame - they're low in saturated fats.

Best wishes to you!

Lol looks like we have the same problem. At least I have reduced my portion size of half a container of peanut butter a day since i decided to get in shape.

By the way try Kroger's natural peanut butter if you haven't already. It just contains roasted peanuts and salt, and dare i say it, I prefer it to Smucker's. It is creamier, less gritty. Not to say Smucker's isn't delicious though.

I alternate between the Krogers brand (at my Dillons store) and Smuckers. Smucker NPB is real good too, but Krogers tends to be a bit more creamier (I think it has a tad more natural oil in it, though the calorie difference is only about 10 per serving.

I love NPB.........I control it though. I wish I didnt have to dang it! If didnt control it though, I would be one big human peanut! :)

(No comment from the regulars who know me well ;) )

I've heard this too, but don't have an answer. I will say, however, you are still getting the good fats which is what you're mainly after in the pb anyway.
