My University gym is just £25 a year. However, I'll be finishing soon so I've been checking out prices.
It's shocking. With my present state of finances I just can't afford any of them.
- the only cardio I use is the rowing machine. Most of the expensive equipment is cardio so is a waste
- workout at home doesn't seem to happen. There's something about going somewhere that actually makes it happen.
Does anyone know of any cheaper options?
- syndicates where gym equipment is bought using shared funds and shared equally?
- cheaper gyms; I prefer gritty gyms. Where do the low paid boxers train?
Here's some prices in the UK:
(~$70/month average)
my local independant gym - £35/month ($65)
cannons -
• Registration fees between £75-£285
• Monthly membership fees £39-£66 - club dependent ($72-$122)
David Lloyd - £48/month ($88)
top notch - £25 - £55 - club dependent ($100)
virgin - £42 ($77)
holmes - Prices vary. Typically £45 - £60 per month ($83-110)
