Right now I am scared for my life.

Ok, I have never succeeded with any diet or fitness regiment. I just moved to a new state and new job and do not have any real support. I have two beautiful girls ages 9 and 11 and want to become their super fit dad. Right now I am scared for my life. I am starting my new diet/fitness regime tomorrow Dec. 30th 2018 (just to be different not starting Jan. 1st ;). Is there anybody out there that will be me? Is begging allowed? I am 100% committed to change my life and I am starting now, I just need help. Attached are 2 pics I just took 5 minutes ago. I am highly embarrassed putting these out there but I think I need accountability.

Well, here i go... Tonight I am 378.4 lbs

Welcome to the forum. Don't be ashamed. Be proud that you are going to take steps to become a healthy dad.

a year ago i was prediabetic and i managed to turn that around. it's never too late to start becoming healthier.

DO NOT BE SCARED

I am a female just like in your weight range and I am starting on January first my raw food challenge all year long. I bought a treadmill fro craigslist which supports my weight, and i am really truly starting to do this. I am 28 btw. the best this with our king of obese people is that when you really start dieting and healthy lifestyle, you lose weight really fast. Good luck !

the first thing that triggered my determination to lose weight was to examine the food i ate after listening to some of the lectures on sugar in our diets. sure i drank diet sodas and non-fat milk and put sweetener v. sugar in tea and coffee, but when i added it up, the food i was consuming was well over the 9 tsps AHA recommended max.... often exceeded even before the end of breakfast! now, having given up a handful of my old diet staples, i keep my sugar in the 6-8 gm/ day range (1½-2 tsps) max, often keeping it closer to zero.

read labels... do the math... sugar is evil.

You are going to do this, man! I'm with you. No shame in the pics. You got a good frame to work with. I have three daughters and I know how you feel. Don't try to make too many changes at once. You'll burn out. Build your new lifestyle one piece at a time. Think small wins. Start with the exercise piece. You'll get to the eating part later. This year your goal is to get in 160 workouts that are at least 30 minutes long. That would mean you're working out at least 3 days per week on average. Put a tally counter on your phone and click it after you finish each workout to keep track. When deciding on how to workout, think about what type of movement you like to do. Weight lifting? Walking/Jogging? Exercise classes? Whatever. Commit to an exercise program you are 70% sure you could do 6 days a week. How to figure that out? Start small. How sure are you that you could do one sit up 6 days per week? Probably 100%. What about two sit ups? Still 100%? Keep going until you have a workout plan that you are 70% sure you could do it 6 days per week. Remember the goal is only 3 days per week, but if you do more, it's a bonus. Keep me posted!
