rGH

well there are these supplements (im sure most of you have heard of it before) that are supposed to increase growth hormones & IGF-1 in blood levels.. i know some of the science behind it, and im not exactly sure how it gets around the liver w/o being destroyed by the liver. im lookin for a supplement buff who can tell me if this stuff actually works, any of it. or anyone who has taken anything similar, can tell me about their personal experience. anything is appreciated.

thanks..

Like all boosters, some work better than others.

I'm not an expert at HGH or IGF but I'll try and break down what I do know. HGH (human growth hormone) is produced in the pituitary gland. The older we get, the more insufficient of HGH we become. What the over the counter HGH products do is stimulate the pituitary gland to produce more HGH. The more sleep we get, the more GH we get. GH binds with insulin in the liver to produce IGF, this occurs (basically) during sleep.

Now having said that, up till the age of 21, test levels, GH production is at its highest and spending money on test boosters is and would be a huge waste. Mreik, I get the feeling you are looking for something to give you that "boost" or "edge" and I'm afraid at your age, you've pretty much got everything you need to build some massive muscle.

I usually recommend HGH to people that are in their late 30s+.

Check out Dr. Klatz and Mario DiPasquel M.D. for more information on this subject.

i've hit a big wall in my numbers & weight gain.. my lifetime goal is to get 405 up(first is was 135, then 225, then 315), but i know that my window of opportunity if fading with age, i want to achieve it while i still can. But i don't know if i will be able to do it w/o any help from an inhibitor to possibly get my test or gh levels higher than normal. is that possible? to get your test or gh levels higher than they already are with inhibitors, or is it asking for trouble..

I'm sorry, Mreik I thought you were under 21.

Which lifts are you having trouble increasing and how long have you been at those numbers?

It is possible to raise test levels safely. You might actually try the 6-Oxo and ZMA before you go to bed. T-Bomb to is also a good one and another good stack would be Tribex and Redkat.

Not a test booster, but have you tried No-Xplode before your workouts?

Yes, I understand where you are coming from but rest assured that you are not going to whither away, neither will your ability to gain strength decrease. Some of the top power lifters are in their 40s+. Strongmen competitors tend to range in age from early 20s to near 40s; I don't know if this reassures you but it's to give you an idea that you have plenty of years of lifting ahead of you.

The idea behind resistance training is even though muscle atrophy happens at the same rate as someone who doesn't lift, those who lift have greater muscle mass and so we have less to worry about as we get older.

I firmly believe that a muscle gets stronger the more you use it (yes, it's more complicated than that but for now anyway). I don't know what your current training program looks like but you might try some tricks like I'm doing-db floor presses, board presses, rep day, max effort day, dynamic day. You might try one day of high intensity and one day of high volume. Lots of different variables that you can use.
