Respiratory

After and a bit during my ride (I ride my bike for cardio), my chest starts to get "crackly"- when I breathe in, it crackles. Is that something I should get checked out do you think? Or is it normal as I am building my system?? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi.

Could you describe "crackly" a little more? Is it simply a sound you make while breathing in? Is there any sensation with it?

I had a small condition when I played football and was told by my doctor it was "asthma-like" but it wasn't asthma (i get that run-around jargon for many things it seems). I had a dry cough when running depending on the climate. (cold or dry air brought it on). Put me on some "mist" machine for a half hour... no long term effect since I still get it (rarely), years later.

I don't know what "crackling" might be though. But I think I would get it checked out as any odd (slight or not) respitory reaction to cardio work outs isn't part of the normal routine.
