Sport Rehydration

Sport Fitness
Four quick questions:

Let's assume I'm chap-lipped, cotton-mouthed, can't-remember-the-last-time-I made-my-water-quota-for-a-day dehydrated. (all right, so I can, but it was about 3 weeks ago.) So, for the road to rehydration:

First -
Should I shoot for the standard 2 liters a day, or try to drink even more than usual?

Second -
About how long till I can consider myself hydrated? A week or so? I assume it doesn't happen overnight.

Third -
Should I drink straight water, or try to supplement with Gatorade, SoBe, etc?

Four -
Should I reduce my amount of daily activity in the meantime?

Thanks to all.

1. Water amount depends on your protein intake. honestly, considering water is the most important nutreint for your body, i would drink a gallon or so.

2.Well, when your body isen't getting enough water, it conserves the water it's rarely getting, but if you suddenly begin giving yourself an adequete amount of water, your body begins to "flush" itself out due to the sudden increase. The answer for this question varies in terms of length of hydration, but i'm guessing 2 to 3 weeks

3. DRINK STRAIGHT WATER. don't mess with the gatorades and sobes because they're loaded with suggar. I would suggest water, green tea, and coffee. The reason for coffee(if it's organic due to the chemicals companies use) is because it is one of the few bitter erbs we consume, and is one of the most significant sources of anti-oxidants.

4.) I don't see why you would need to reduce activity levels. I meen, if you're sweating(depends on you're intensity and duration to activity), then you can lose up to a litter of water. So, i would just drink even more water if you have a high activity level.

O yeah, a side note. If you are going to consume coffee, you're going to have to drink more water because it is a dehydrant.
Good luck.

coffee is a definite - I wouldn't trust myself around the aviation fuel trucks I'm operating every morning without it! Though the "coffee" is usually brown colored sugar and creamer

Thanks for the answers!

Alkaline Water is still the Best Cure

Too much coffee is bad for health as it is acidic. But I still continue to enjoy my cup of coffee every morning. This is because i have found a solution to neutralize the acidic food intake.

Higher Alkalinity means good health. O2 Berry transforms your water into a powerful alkaline beverage, which fights against the physical stress caused by today's fast-paced lifestyles.
It takes 32 glasses of alkaline water to neutralize the acid from one 12 oz. soda. Each time you drink acidic soda, coffee, tea, and energy drinks your body uses its own buffers (from bone and dna) to raise the body's alkalinity to maintain your healthy blood pH level of 7.35-7.45. Drinking water with O2 Berry in it, can help the body restore it's mineral supplies to balance it's pH.
You can get more of it at myberrytree.
