Regressed.. Bummed out over the last 2 weeks

Folks,

I am out of ideas. Here is the lowdown. I am 5'6 and was 174Lbs in Jul

July1 - Nov 1
Lost 23 Lbs
Significant Fat Loss
Progressed to the point of visible 4 packs in the mid section
4 Days Weight Training and 3 Days Spinning during non weight training days
Supplements - Whey Protein, Hot-rox extreme (2/day), Fish Oil and FlaxSeed
Very good eating habits and no sugar or rice intake.

Nov 12- Nov 30
Stopped All supplements especially hot-rox (cycling out)
Kept the rest of the program and had no change/loss of muscle definition

Since Dec1
Got back to original supplement list
Added Creatine Monohydrate and Glutamine to the list
Same workout and eating habits

in the last 2 weeks, I have noticed that the cuts in the midsection is all but gone. I see visible bloating. Not a lot but certainly not looking the same. I dont understand. Does creatine have anything to do with this. I know it hydrates your muscles. Please advice. Should I change my workout routine? I am bummed out after this perceived regress. I really want to have a solid mid section.

Thanks

"Weight gain" is normal with creatine. Do not be discouraged, this is healthy weight. You are retaining more water is all that is happening.

its the creatine. you're holding more water. i bet if you step on a scale, you weight at least a few pounds more.

Thanks

Well I am not a weight watcher. I am on Hot-rox only because I want to get lean mass. Currently I am hovering around 152-154. I dont mind weight gain due to muscle mass but I find it rather couter productive with Creatine if I want a leaner look.

Just exactly how does one get a visible midsection definition if water retention by creatine is doing the opposite and bloating the stomach area?

Please clarify. Do bodybuilders cycle off Creatine a month prior to staging just so they can dehydrate and show a much pronounced muscle definition? is that how it works?

I'm sure most bodybuilders have something way better then creatine....

I don't know what to tell you about the waterweight. You could try drinking more water though.

Well when you see a bodybuilder in a show. He will be down to 3% bodyfat(or less) and at the time of the show he will be down to only a few ounces of water per day for about 3 days leading up to the show. It's not the most healthy thing for your organs, but THAT is how they get so defined. If you were to see an actual bodybuilder during normal life when they aren't preping for a show they are nowhere near as defined. In fact I believe that about 3 months prior to a show they begin their preparations by ramping up to 2-3gallons of water per day as well as potassium bulking to prepare the body for the dehydration which starts 2 weeks before the show date. I am not a bodybuilder so this info is probably slighly skewed, but just wanted to emphasize the fact that unless you train and suppliment like a bodybuilder, with a "show date" in clear view, be happy with an above average physique.

unless you are a competing bodybuilder its dangerous to think like one. definition is still possible without cycling your water and creatine and whatever else you choose to use.

plus there's definition and healthy definition. sub 3% bodyfat is not something to aspire to unless you want to be on stage.
