Reforming yourself...

Well, not sure what where this belongs, but recently decided I haven't been up to par. Therefore I have decided to make some radical changes : Restarting tennis, doing athletics, studying for between 1 and 2 hours per night, having more sleep, exercising, being nicer to people, and improving my self-confidence as well as being impervious to other people. Anyone else aiming to 'better' themselves, reform, sharpen the saw, whatever you want to call it? :)

Yes i guess you could say that about me. Lately i've been a lot more dedicated to my degree at University and I have been putting in more effort than ever at the gym and seeing the benefits.
I try to get more sleep but have a busy schedule but generally try to get atleast 6 hours, and 8 maximum.

I am mostly impressed with my recent efforts with cardio as that was always my worst point, I love the feeling of exhasting my muscles during a weights session (most of the time) but never liked cardio much and always stuck to the bike. Now I am running on the treadmill instead and loving it, the feeling of being absolutely knackered by the end of the cardio session is great and the fact i'm not totally exhaust half way through like I used to be is great too! :D

I really can not wait until the summer when I can start running in the mornings before work and then do my weights after work (I do cardio 5-6 days a week). Will be really nice to get the fresh air in the morning to prepare me for the day ahead :D

I'm with ya bro. I think the change in season brings it out of me. I landscape mainly so when the ground freezes things get real slow and I kinda crawl in the cave and hibernate for a few months. I keep a part time night job to carry me through financially but in general I dwindle to a lazy sac of crap in the winter  . This March I've just really felt a strong pull to be better, and not just physically, all around. In my relationships with friends and family, in the community, looking in to going back to school.

It feels great. I've started calling my brother every week who I usually only talk to over the Christmas holiday. I'm thinking about volunteering at my parent's church soup kitchen on Wed night, I don't even go to church except holidays just feels right because they need the help. Looking in to getting a horticulture degree.

I don't know what lit a fire under my backside recently but I'm glad it's happening :) . Good to hear others are going through the same resurgence.

I work as a graphic designer, used to do A LOT of sports when I was younger, but all changed when I started working. As you can imagine, I work sitting down with my ass flat on a chair, and used to work between 10-12 hours. All that changed last year, started swimming and later on going to the gym, cut my working ours to 6 or 7 and leaving stress at the office.

Do I feel better? You bet.
