Recovering from epididymis injury-what can I do?

Ok-I know this is something I should probably keep to myself but it's the only way anyone is going to be able to understand the situation I'm in. In the middle of July, I was placed on antibiotics for what could have turned out to be an infection in my epididymis. Basically what the doctors have been doing with the medication and tests since middle of July is rule out different things (tumor, cancer, vd, etc). I went to the doctor last week and got some tests done and the doc says he believes any infection that was there is gone now and there is just some swelling that can be relieved with ibuprofen. I'm placed on another antibiotic right now to rule out other posibilities. He says I can work out but I should avoid exercises that work the internal and external obliques as any intense activity there could put stress or strain the area.

I would like to start up a weight training routine again but I'm not sure I should because I'm worried that if I just totally ignore my core and just work upper and lower body it will mess my body up. Also, I'm not even sure if I should start a goal based program such as one designed for a bulk or cut until my condition goes away completely. However, this could take forever because the area isn't exactly protected by anything (muscle, bone).

Any advice? Has anyone been through or knows anyone else who has been through a similar situation?

Almost 100 views and no replies-am I screwed?

I feel your pain...literally. I was miss-diagnosed with that a few years back because my symptoms were basically the same but it turns out I had something else. As far as your workout, I cannot help you but i can give you my hopes that your pain and problem stay away.

Thanks man. It's a tough situation because I wanna workout but at the same time the pain and symptoms going away is more important right now.

I mean this in the sincerest way possible. See a doctor. Don't let us diagnose you and/or advise you on what would be correct to do or not do in this situation. Ask your MD what your limitations are.
