Recommendations on a good but cheap multivitamin?

I have used a few multivitamins before but I think I paid too much, like 30 bucks for 120 caps.

Can someone recommend me a few high quality but cheap multi's?

try and find a good liquid multi. the bioavailability is potentially far superior to that of a capsule, tablet, etc..

I dont see how vitamins can make you "feel" better unless you had some deficiency

I think they are more of keeping you healthy for the long term and not something you can notice on a day to day basis

The argument for liquids is that they are more easily absorbed by the intestine into the body than solid pills. However, nutrients are absorbed into the body early on in the intestinal tract, and liquids pass through the body relatively quickly. How do we know that the vitamins have time to be fully absorbed? Solids, on the other hand, remain in the intestine for a much longer time. However, it is not the form they are in that is important, but the bioavailability, and liquids are more bioavailable than solids. They are more easily absorbed by the body.

for the pill type:

We also know that vitamins in tablet or capsule form are able to contain significant amounts of enzymes and the enteric coated types can deliver the nutritional supplements through the stomach and into the upper intestine where they are best absorbed.

Some nutritionists say that the best way to be sure your body actually absorbs most of the nutrients you are paying for is to buy a high quality vitamin pill with an enteric coating.

Enteric coating is used in pharmaceutical tablets for medicines. This is a carefully designed delivery system. One that carries the nutraceutical ingredients right to the walls of the upper intestine. That is where they are best absorbed through the lining and into the bloodstream.

Not true.
liquids are absolutely more efficiently utilized by the body. check the current literature, and the opinion of many nutritionally based experts. they are also more easily assimilated by people who find it difficult to take vitamins in tablet form.

Actually you can look into the annual magazine that's published that puts 1000 vitamins up against each other (liquids, pills, caplets, etc). A signifigant number of non-liquid brands scored higher than the liquids. Your health food markets/centers or book dealers should be able to order it for you.

Can't really help you on the good but cheap. I'm currently taking prenatal vitamins. No, I'm not kidding. I feel great. :yelrotflmao:

But I'll let you know what I come up with once these run out in a few days. Been meaning to look into it, evo-suggested-style. Remember doing that a couple years ago and discovering the Costco brand (Kirkland Signature I think) was actually a reasonably decent multi for practically nothing (but only for dudes - iron content and such). I think it was $10 for a 6 month supply.

If you want a complete pack. ISS Research Super Vitamin 30 Pak is great option. I'ts got the correct amount of B-Complex, Vitamin E Vtamin C, Calcium needed. It's goes for $9.95 to $14.95

The issue: Is it standardized, stablized and all plant sourced mineral and vitamin?

Cheap is cheap. You get what you pay for in almost everything, including supplementation. Most vitamins are synthetic (petroleum derived chemicals) and the minerals (ground up rocks) are mined from the same rock quarries that sell calcium to cement factories. They may cost less, but what's the use of taking what your cells don't even recognize and can't absorb. (liquid or not) Taking the wrong form burdens the body, working against you. The body has to work to get rid of it. My suggestion is to ONLY take plant-based vitamin AND mineral complexes. The whole idea is to provide nutritional support to your body, not to take something for the sake of taking something. hint: if the supplement doesn't list the actual plants that it is made from, don't waste your money on it. Believe me, if the company has plant derived vitamins and minerals, they WILL tell you about it and tell you the source. Also, be sure the company is reputable, the supplements are standardized, stablized and follow GMP's. This assures you're getting what you pay for every time and that your body knows what it is and utilizes it. Good supplementation doesn't cost that much more. Buy cheap socks, shoes, books, dishes, etc. at costco or whereever, but don't be mislead into thinking you're doing your body a favor by buying bargain supplements. Don't buy rocks for nutrition, just for landscaping:) Hope this helps.

The price of the Liquid Vitamins, ViBE™, might be a little bit expensive. However, I would say, for the quality of the filter, you get what you paid for.
