Sport Reaching My Goal

Sport Fitness
So, it's been almost a year since I started getting serious about maintaining a healthy diet and exercise routine. A year later, I've learned a lot about what is involved, whether it be reading about nutrition, learning from others in the gym, etc.

I just want to make sure I'm doing everything I possibly can to get to where I want to be.
Initially, my goal was to achieve the elusive "six pack". I'm 6'5'', 19, and I have a pretty average build. I grew up slightly over weight, and it wasn't until I joined the swim team back in highschool that I began to see myself as an athlete. Now, I'm in college rowing for my university's Crew team.

So, to the questions:
1. I eat very healthy, but the question ultimately comes down to calories. I still want that "six pack" but I also know that I need to eat plenty to compensate for the intense 2 hour long cardio and weight lifting workouts that being a college-level rower demands. Should I be eating more or less than usual? (for my height and weight, I believe it's about 2,800 a day)
2. Is working out every morning the best way for me to stay on track to my goal? Or perhaps should there be something else that I can do separately on my own to help advance my specific goal?

the reason I'm so curious is that so many weight loss programs boast about "6 months to your abs" and "Best body in 12 weeks!", but it's been about a year and although I see progress, it isn't nearly as drastic as "advertised".

I'll let you be the judge

so I guess the main point of this thread is: does this look like a good rate of progress for one year? and is there anything I can do to speed up the process to achieve the mystical Six Pack? I'm worried that I may be "plateauing" after a year of very strenuous workouts and strict dieting.

thanks for any input
-Ian
