Hello,

So, the past month I have been lazy and unmotivated. From January to the end of April, I had been going strong, going to the gym with my cousin at least 3-4 times a week, and I nearly lost 20 pounds. Then May hit and I have done nothing and I have gained back almost 6 pounds. I'm trying to lose weight for my wedding (I bought a dress one size smaller) and to be in utmost shape for my future career (massage therapist), however, I haven't been motivated, I've been lazy, and I am terrified to go to the gym by myself... or I make excuses about not going.

Anyone have any advice on how to freshen things up and keep trucking on? I want to lose at least another 20 pounds in the next few months.

Thanks x

Hey!! I think I can help. I'm a certified holistic health coach and a certified personal trainer and even I have days when I go to the gym and am like "Ugh...I can't do this today." There's a few things you can do

*Go to the gym and give yourself a 20 minute time limit. Its a small enough goal where you really don't have to be there long and you can potentially get a good workout.

*Look on Groupon and join a local bootcamp. You can get comraderie and you have someone else's guidance who knows what they're doing.

*Get fitness DVD's. I lost 40 pounds from just doing fitness DVD's at home. I LOVE Jillian Michaels. She's tough but she gets it done! Plus, they're usually less than $10 each.

*Go on a hike outside with friends and family. Its great to be out in nature and it definitely doesn't feel like the normal "gym" routine.

*Do circuit training. You get variety and a good sweat on. An easy one you can do is this: 20 jumping jacks to 20 push ups to 20 jump squats to 20 bicycle crunches. Repeat 3 times.

*Most of all, nutrition! They say weight loss is 80% nutrition and 20% gym time. If you need help in that department, feel free to message me and we can have a discovery call.

What do you normally do when you go to the gym?

Hey, have you tried trying some weight loss hacks? For example eat while looking in front of the mirror, this will surely make you reflect on yourself and realize why you want to start exercising again. Watch workout exercises on YouTube, I always do this and it makes me want to try the exercises. Do it, watch some now. Good Luck :D

Hello. Thanks for writing such a nice blog on re-motivation. I have been going to the gym with my friend for the last few months and I nearly lose my 10 kg weight by going to gym.

Good job, friend. It has been proven that if you have a gym partner you are more likely to stick to the plan/routine and get to your target goal. So you are on the right track, keep at it and don't give up.
