Hey Everyone, new member here..however i have a problem. I have lost about 54 pounds in the past three months by strict dieting with very minimal exercise. however for the past month, i guess you can say the strict diet for a little looser, and while i havnt gained any, i havnt lost any. Any tips on where to go from here? Should i go back to the strict diet or should i loosen the diet and eat like how i will normally, and incorporate exercise?? when i say eat normally, i mean bringing back the carbs and other stuff, of course with moderation. Thanks ahead of time for any tips/tricks/help

I generally don't believe in "strict" diets. If you've gone off of some extremely restrictive diet, then yeah, your body will react.

I would think that it would be better to develop a way of healthy eating as a way of life, and incorporate exercise - both weight lifting and cardio - to help lose/maintain your weight.

Strict Dieting gets quick results, and although the chance of derailing is high, i think its worth it. i got lucky then i guess because just railed back on.

I understand what you mean by the healthy lifestyle thing though.

strict dieting may get quick results, but unless you have the healthy lifestyle, you're not going to maintain it.

sure, the first instinct is to diet like you're punishing yourself for something, but you have to look 3 steps ahead too.

The food you eat when you are losing weight should be the same as you "normally" eat, only a little less of it. Exercise is something you should do for general health and fitness, whether you are losing weight or not.
