11/23: Starting at 260 lbs. Well I just really got back on track yesturday. But I did a great job!!! I'm keeping my own Physical Activity Record, Food record and Weight Record and yesturday I stayed within my own limits. And Actually did a little more Exercise. To help myself from eatting too much I shared with my son and boyfriend. And I stopped eating when I felt a little bit full. Sometimes I tend to eat untill I can not eat no more. :)

Great job Rachel!!!!!!!!

Thanks. I've been a little tempted today but still sticking with my plan. Now I just have to make it to the gym tonight.

Hiya Rachel!

I used to overeat all the time too, what i found kind of works is to just overeat salad and drink lots of water that will fill you up and its very low cal. Well good luck to ya! I can see you reaching your goals pretty soon!

11/24: Well yesturday I did not make it to the gym. But I got up a little early this morning and did 20 minutes on my bike and I'm gonna try to get in a little more exercise later. I'm trying to eat more fruits and vegetables and stay away from junk foods and candy. I'm a little worried about tommorow because I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner. And my mom and sister are bringing dessert. I'm worried about all the left overs. And I also pick at food when I'm cooking..

Hi Rachels...good luck with your diet! The best advice I can give you is just don't give up if you fall back for one day, just get right back on the wagon. This time of year is partically hard with the holidays here, so if you miss the gym or have some dessert, don't let it sidetrack you! One dessert will not hurt you. MY favorite saying is...Yes, you can have a piece of cake, just not the WHOLE cake, or yes, you can have a cookie, just not the whole dozen.

*is avoiding Thankgiving completely*
LOL, I'm going up to Canada to visit my boyfriend as opposed to being with my family.
Anyway, just remember - the key is moderation. I know it's hard because on the holidays you tend to feel deprived if you don't eat much, so good luck!!

Hey! Good for you on taking the first step. The hardest part now is just keeping in that routine. I know I often feel really motivated one day and start to get on track then a week somtimes even a month later I just forget about it and eat like an entire chocolete cake or something! :p The good thing is that we're all here to support you! So far in the last couple of days with everyones help I have been staying in a motivated routine! It can only get better right? Oh and hey, if you don't make it to the gym one day, don't sweat it! Actually if I don't get to the gym, either b/c of lack of time....or sometimes in lack of laziness, I just try to do some simple stuff at home. Crunches on the floor, push-ups, arm curls with a soup can, maybe some squats, that clears away a lot of my guilty feelings :) Anyways, congrats on your decision to get in better shape! We're all here for you! Cheers!

Again thanks for your advise. Well yesturday I didn't do as well as I wanted, but I didn't go too overboard. I planned to do some exercise to make up for my eating but after most of the day cooking and Wends. Shopping I was just too exausted. But I am getting right back on track today.. I just need to get some of those leftovers out of my fridge. I tried to get everybody to take some home but I still have a bunch.

Congrats - you survived the first holiday and you haven't given up. I agree with all the others...don't sweat it...this time of year it is very hard to make time for everything and stay on track with food. So I think as long as we don't lose our goal entirely we're good to go. I read an article last year around this season, about how to 'survive' the holidays...I'll see if I can find it again, then I will post it in the forum...

Well the leftovers got me a little bit but I started fresh this morning. And I actually lost a little weight over the last week.

I did great yesturday!!! This morning I got in 20 minutes on my bike. I'm not sure if I will be able to make it to the gym later, although I really want to. Trying to drink more water and less pop today. That is one of my weak points...but I'm trying to cut way back on my pop.

Yesturday I did great on eating, but I didn't make it to the gym. Although I did do a few simple exercises at home. Today I have also done well on eating and been drinking a lot of water today. I did 20 minutes on the bike this morning.

I did really good yesturday, although I probably should have ate a little more I missed my afternoon snack and had a very, very lite dinner. I am doing great on getting in more water and less pop. I need to keep working on the pop thing. This morning I had some green tea instead of my normal can of pop. I did some crunches, push ups, arm ex. and a few other lite exer and about 20 min. on the bike, because I know I will not be able to make it to the gym later. My sister is going in the hospital this morning!! She is getting ready to have her baby. This morning they are using Cervidil to help thin her cervix. So if nothing happens today I will still go up to the hospital after work for a little bit.

your doing wonderful - keep up the good work.

And a new baby in the family - how exciting - hope all goes well!

Thanks Lisa,
I have a nephew. He was a big boy and gave us a bit of a scare but he is doing great. Well over the weekend I didn't do as well as I wanted but I did pretty good anyway. I didn't get in much exercise besides going shopping on Saturday. I'm going to try to get back on track today. And I did lose some weight this week so I guess over all I did great this week.

HI there, just popping in to see how you are doing...congrats on the new addition to the family and keep up that positive attitude....it is working for you. J.

congrats on the new arrival and the weight loss....plus....shopping can be very exhausting as well - I'm sure you burnt some calories, being on your feet all day:D

Thanks,
Well I went a little over yesturday. I have to figure out a way to keep from picking at the food when I am cooking. I should snack on fresh veggies when I'm cooking but not much in my fridge at the moment. Need to go shopping tommorow, tonight I am going to the gym. I have not been getting up and getting on my bike in the morning so I really need to make it to the gym. I really can not wait for the holiday season to be over. My son B-day is Friday and my daughters is on Monday so I'll probably just have one party on Saturday. Then my christmas party for work is next Friday then my sisters B-day is the 23rd and then of course Christmas and then my oldest son's B-day on the 31st. December is not my best month to stay away from too much food. It is all gonna be right there in front of me. And there is always leftovers. I really need to do this I have to try my best to stay away from the sweets and limit myself. I can do it.. I hope....I know I can. I've done it before I can do it again. I think for Christmas I am not going to go all out. My sister is getting the Ham and maybee a couple of other side dishes. I have a pumkin pie in the freezer, That should be well enough. Then I won't have too many leftovers to tempt me.

don't know if this will help, but I think I read that from fitski once before.

If there is appetizers, look for the veggies; when filling your plate, start with the salad and if possible, even eat that first. You probably won't be as hungry anymore and won't fill your plate as much afterwards. And then ask yourself....am I still hungry.

Also try and eat slowly as it takes approx. 20min for the information that you are actually full to get to the brain:(
