R.lewis - back to school

Well its been a good 6 years since I left school so I have chosen to do a 2 year course in A-level Human Biology.

I was getting annoyed that I didnt know what people were talking about, so I decided to throw in a bit of cash to get qualified. I find it very interesting and I know that it will also be useful to everyone here on the forum. I wont know everything right away, but if anyone has any questions I will be happy to look things up for people.

I'm starting next Monday, Here are some parts of the course that will be interesting and useful to all of us...

Carbohydrates and lipids
Proteins
Nucleic acids
Tissues and organs
Breathing
Gas exchange and the effects of smoking
Digestion and absorption
Blood structure and function
Oxygen and carbon dioxide transport
The heart and circulation
Growth, development and ageing
Types of nutrition
Food chains and webs
Recycling of nutrients
Energy resources
Metabolic pathways, enzymes and ATP
Cellular respiration and the mitochondrion
Aerobic and anaerobic respiration
Homeostasis, feedback and receptors
Nerves
The central nervous system
Introduction to genetics

Lastly, If anyone has done any work in Human Biology and wouldn't mind helping me out my email address is fitness.com@hotmail.co.uk

2 year course in A-level Human Biology.
hahahahaha... enjoy it -.-

... (i failed Bio miserably, I hate it with a passion)

But seriously, nice looking out for what you need and want in life. I hope you understand it more than I did :). Good luck bro, you'll be better off with it in the end.

I just found out my schools biology department offers three courses on Metabolism & Nutrition. Ill be taking those as electives.

Thanks for your support guys.
The guys at home dont really understand. They dont see why I would pay money and put the work in if its nothing to do with my carrer.

But I enjoy it, and I know that I wont be the only one who benifits from it.

Without suffering there is no enlightenment!

Russel, shoot me a pm if you have any questions that I might be able to help you with. I've had two courses of anatomy-applied anatomy (geared more towards the kinesiology field) and anatomy (geared more towards the medical field...cadaver stuff)

Try taking human morphology :p now that's hard. It's been a few years since I took phys, anat, and kinesiology, but I too can help..

Go get em, bro. This is my second time through Human Anatomy and I you can count on me to take it a third time with you.

lol

Jk, I don't plan on the third time, although I have been getting owned...

I'm doing Human Biology this year, so I'll help you if I can.

Great textbook by the way, goes into probably a little too much depth for our level but you can never know too much -> .

You can pick it up a little cheaper on fleeBay.

Again, thanks everyone.
I start Monday, and I should get past the 1st couple of weeks without too many probs.
