quickest way to beat a cold?

i have come down with a cold and am bed ridden. i don't know how long i will be sick for but i want to get outdoors ASAP. does anyone know any hints or shortcuts on how to get over it quickly?

As you know, there's no cure for a cold. The best thing that you can do is to just boost your immune system enough to let your body fight it off as strongly as possible. In other words, get good nutrition (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, probiotics) get proper rest, and if you can, move around a bit and get some sunlight.

I think I would try a couple of these, namely:
* Hot juice (never thought of this, but makes sense. Usually when I am sick I sip hot tea for the warmth and have a small glass of juice occasionally for the vitamin C... sounds like I could kill two birds with one stone by sipping hot juice)
* Sauna! That sounds nice! Except I don't think any saunas want people who are sick lurking around, so maybe a very warm, steamy bath :)

Vitamin C is a preventative. If you already have a cold you won't get much benefit form using it!

Vitamin C is actually less preventative than most people think. What it will do is help return your immune system to baseline if it's been lowered by things such as exercise or cold. It won't, however, raise your resistance to anything above that.

I have done this, it works perfect for me, it could be orange or calamansi, they are always available in a nearby store.

Yes I agree with the fact that a strong immune system is needed to beat cold. But there are certain home tips that can help a lot. Ginger tea and gargling are helpful too.

Ginger: make a delicious hot drink with ginger, lemon juice and a dash of honey. It will help to beat the cold.
