Sport quick question on salt

Sport Fitness
Ok so lets say im keeping a fairly good diet and im going to the gym every other day and im doin interval training and weights and that.

How drastically does salt effect my losing body fat regime? Is salt to be avoided at all costs? can I still get a low bf% (10-12%) and have a little bit of salt a day?

The body needs salt to live, just not toooooooo much.

Too much salt means you'll retain water, and it's bad for your blood pressure. Just aim for a decent amount, and don't go overboard and you should be fine...most healthy food is low in sodium anyway.

exactly...the amount of salt in healthy foods could actually lead to a sodium deficiency on the days you sweat a lot. this is why gatorade is sometimes better...it replaces the salt, potassium and other electrolytes you need to live.

if you're really eating healthily you shouldn't have too much salt in the diet, and can feel free to lightly salt your foods as you see fit.
