Sport Quick question about Tuna.

Sport Fitness
I read that canned water Tuna is better than canned oil Tuna. Now do you lose any protein or any other sort of nutrients when you drain the Tuna DRY? I hate having my Tuna completely dry so I don't drain it completely just so it wouldn't feel like swallowing cotton swabs. Do you lose anything by draining it dry, or doesn't matter if I just used the whole can no drain (not that I would!)?

I suggest you buy the tuna packed in bags, in water.

All you have to do is open it and you can eat it right out of the bag and it tastes much better than the canned tuna.

If you drain the water packed tuna you do not lose anything, no.

Lv is right the packaged sleeve tuna is much better. A little more expensive but well worth it.

Be a man, eat out da can! :)

The nutrients are in the fish, not the water.

Appreciate it LV, and Hawk.

Busyman.. its not about being a man eating out of the can. In case you missed what I said... I do eat out of the can, but its so dry its hard to swallow by itself. I could chase it down with some liquid but that defeats the purpose of good tasting tuna.

if you get it in olive oil and drain the excess then thats fine, probably even healthier providing you're not drinking excessive amounts of the oil across the week.

hell of a lot better than throwing in mayo anyhow

I LOVE tuna...the worst day for me was when the mercury study came out because my favorite type has always been albacore tuna in water. You're supposed to eat chunk light if you're a woman...

Personally I've never liked tuna in oil. I think tuna in water is much healthier. Those packages are cool.

Mayo isn't extremely helpful...I would use light mayo as well and would also put a smaller amount in your tuna...you can add celrey or relish for extra taste.

that made me bust out laughing...bent wrist lee
