Quick Dextrose Question

Hey, I'm 165lb, and I'm currently not trying to bulk nor cut, stay at 165 for now. I just got my shipment of dextrose today and am planning on incorporating it into my next PWO shake tomorrow.

My question: What should my ratio be c/p? 1:1? usually I have 24/48g protein and water. So I was thinking 24g carbs (so I think 7.50 tsp), 24g pro, and water. How does that sound?

Agreed with the 2:1 suggestion :)

Hehe I asked this recently.

I try to have it just under 2:1, my mix is probably 1.75:1

because the drink can get 'too' sweet lol

It's kinda funny when friends say "Why the hell do you have sugar after your workout? Doesn't that like defeat the purpose??"

I'll enjoy my sugar damnit!!!

Generally, I've always read a 2:1 but I thought that was for those who were bulking. I didn't want to be adding weight because I have to keep 165 for my May 19th comp. I used a 2:1 Tuesday, and will continue that from now on. Thx everyone :)

BTW, 2:1 isn't that sweet, pffft lol :p

Wow, that's pretty awesome for someone at 16 - same age as me. I see you're into wrestling as well, I'm planning on starting this coming up season as well as picking up boxing, any tips? :D

Haha, no way! I'm planning on doing boxing this summer as well.

For wrestling: weights, endurance, and technique. Alot of weight lifting. I'm sure you already do alot, but you can have the best technique in the world, but if you don't have the strength to do the moves, you're screwed. Legs and back (pull muscle) would prob be the main things, but VERY close would be well, everything else. You need every muscle in your body for wrestling. Make sure every muscle is getting it's share of work.

Endurance. You need to go balls to the wall for 6 minutes. They say 3 rounds of 2 minutes but that's bull because it's not like you get a break, you go RIGHT back into action. I would say get your running up the best you can. I'm going to see if I can either get permission/sneak into a HS like a mile away from me to use their track.

Wrestling is a winter sport, so I suggest you get to a camp this summer. At least get the basics down. Stance, shots, reverses, pins, point system, etc.

I can't wait for the summer, hopefully I'll get enough money so I can do boxing!! PM me with any questions, I'd be happy to help =]

Wow, sounds pretty brutal. Can't wait for it man, thanks for the tips - I think that I am going to end up working with my teacher for a lot, he has been wrestling for something like 12 years and has a lot of experience. But boxing's been a long time coming for me, I wanna get out there and actually start now.

What other hobbies you into Merciless?

You name it man, I'm into everything under the sun.

I love music, play guitar, write alot, draw alot, I own at pool, poker with friends, biking, paintballing, basketball, hang with friends alot. A lot I can't think of atm lol but you name it, I prob either do it, or want to :p

What kind of music you into? Pool and poker I own at :) Also ping pongs pretty sweet, I got into paintballing a bit and want to get into it more, have an autococker just sittin around... I see you're into shot put, I was going to get into track and field stuff, but nobody I knew was with me in it and I eventually didn't go.

Just about anything except (uh oh :O) metal o_O...haha except in the weight room, that's all I can listen to...I even have a fav song that idk name, but I can only make out a few words and that doesn't help on google =\

Rock, rap, raggae, raggeton, 60's, 70's, some techno, etc. Everything but metal, emo and country. How bout you?

Lol, I have a gun that is really basic (Tippman 98 custom) but I love war games (thinking about Marines) so I completely kick ass.

The funny thing is, everything started with wrestling. I got into that, and the guy whos locker was next to mine was (how bout this) a school record holding senior for powerlifting (505lb. DL for 181 junior). And he is a really great guy, so I asked him, he told me be there at 6:30 and he'd teach me everything. So I got there and the rest is history. From that, I noticed the bigger guys and some of my friends that were PL getting ready for T&F (shot) season...so I got into that, lol, I didn't even know anything about the sport (kinda didn't really knew we had a team). Just through people how I got into things. You should def do wreslting/shot next season.

You're getting me really wanting to do it. I'm gonna check it out tomorrow and see what's up. Meh, actually, I'm really open to all types of music, I just prefer metal really. If it sounds good, then hell, I'm all for it :) There's some pretty strong guys I reckon in powerlifting huh? 505lbs DL for a junior is insane.. My school doesn't even have anything close to powerlifting though.

EDIT:
Meh, we kinda took over this whole thread.. question was already answered anyway :)

Lol, you have NO idea. A 275 senior at the march 24th comp broke state squat record his 1st attempt, went on to break his own record on his 2nd and 3rd attempt. Ended up getting a 675 squat. I think his total was like 1642 for squat, bench, and dead. Others have huge numbers too. It's really awesome because the PLers are so many, like 20-30 so whenever I'm in there I know the big guys, before or after school. So if I go in with some of my friends that lift occasionally, I'll be like 'hey whattup' and me and the guy will start talking...and my friends are like 'you know him?'...lol, cause alot of powerlifters are known in the school as beasts and animals

At first, I was just another guy in the weight room, but now I'm known as a powerlifter...so I talk to all the guys, none take my turn, and it's much easier to ask any questions or for spots from just about any of the bigger guys. They're all really cool too.

Lol, well, just to reiterate the question and answer:
2:1 carb: pro ratio is best for any goal.

Haha, that seems awesome - I bet all of those guys are huge, if you are ever in a fight seems like you got some pretty trustworthy backup haha.. Seems like I need to get my arse into some good sports, it's kinda hard when not many of your friends are as into it as you though. They go to the gym whenever they feel like it, have no idea of what a good routine or diet is like and just kinda disregard advice or anything that I tell em. Whatever, I'm fine with it if they don't want to do it, not gonna force it on them, but I mean, if you're going to do it, do it right damnit.. Same goes for these sports though, its just kinda difficult to work with, but looking on the bright side, I'll be able to get my point across while boxing :)

Same thing, my friends do track, are on JV baseball, JV/V lax, football, soccer, volleyball...I had 1 friend that was a wrestler...I ended up making alot more. But you're right, it's really hard when none of your friends are doing it. I didn't do it freshman year, I just did it this past winter for mostly that reason, and hate myself for waiting.

Haha, yea...when do you plan on starting boxing?
