Questions on What I'm Doing

Hey guys, I am trying to lose weight and my stats are 19 years old, 5'7 and 225 pounds.

I am currently walking/jogging every morning for about 45 minutes first thing in the morning. Is it true that doing cardio in the morning is the best time to do it? I read that it's the best time our body will burn more fat in the morning with cardio.Another question is should I be doing this every day? Should I switch to maybe 3 days a week like mon, wed, fri?

I also read that I should be doing a little strength training while trying to lose some weight. I don't exactly have any equipment at home except for some dumbbells. I looked up some workouts with dumbbells online and found something like this:

It's a quick 15 minute workout I found, and I figure i could do that after my cardio every other day? Should I be doing more workouts than these 15 minute routines?

I have only begun this recently, and I'm still learning how to make a meal plan on my other thread, so any advice would help me out. Thanks!

Unfortunately I don´t have any advice for you, but I noticed that more than 70 people had read this without replying so at the very least I thought I'd give it a bump. :)

Thanks to Domestika, I'll step up to the plate. lol

Why don't you spend 30 min on that Men's Health workout and incorporate chest and back. (look up dumbell exercises for chest and back on youtube). Do this circuit workout 3 days a week (every other day for recovery)

I'd shoot for 30 minutes of cardio 5-6 days a week. Doesn't matter what kind (jogging, biking, brisk walking etc.)

What's going on with your meal plan? Do you have something in place yet? Let us see.

Thanks guys, I finally got a meal plan up, but still needs fixing. I still have questions for the cardio tho. I do it in the morning when i wake up, without eating anything at all but some water. Should i eat something small before I do it or is what I'm doing fine?

Cardio and small portions

Hey there Crab,
I would suggest that on top of increasing your cardio workout (try various cardio-jogging, biking, swimming, jumping jacks, jump roping, and mountain climbing), get into a weight lifting program. Lifting weights builds muscles, which boosts the metabolism and burns fat. Even though it may not feel like you are burning fat, you are.
Also, try decreasing the portions you eat. Try eating small 5 or 6 meals per day, as opposed to 3 large ones. Also get a lot of fiber in your diet (found in veggies, fruits, and whole grain breads). Fiber burns fat as well.

I hope this helps. Have a wonderful day!

Google "Death by Bodyweight" Do that along with your cardio. Start doing intervals for your cardio. Walking is good to do on lifting days and can speed recovery but if you want to get serious about dropping some fat you need to up your game. Sprints. Jump rope... do more. Also Google Tabata. Do that a couple times a day.
