Questions on Creatine: intake/best on the market

I'm new to this board so hello everyone :)

All my buddies tell me that Kre-Alkalyn is the best and most effective creatine, but just want to get other people's thoughts and opinions.

Also I have heard (this board included) that creatine is recommended after workouts. However would it bad to take creatine before and after? When I don't take creatine I burn out embarrassingly fast.

Thanks in advance!

When I don't take creatine I burn out embarrassingly fast.

That sounds psychosomatic to me, creatine can be effective for many people but it should make such an extreme difference, concentrate on lifting and eating right and put far less importance on supps

But on the issue of timing, I used to take the stuff pre and post workout (just followed recommended dose instructions)

sigh.

Welcome to the forums...please pay particular attention to the various Sticky threads we have posted...like the one at the top of this forum that goes in-depth into creatine types, dosage, etc.

Kre-alkalyn is crap. no science to back its claims. garbage. don't use it. don't waste money on it.

Right after I posted this I saw the creatine sticky, haha...so sorry. But still thanks for letting me know nicely and not flaming, appreciate it

Kre-Alkaline is no good

I took Kre-Alkaline for about a month because I'm a hardgainer, and it definitely helped me bench more and gain some mass, but I also started to develop a gut. It was all "water muscle" that I gained because once I stopped taking Kre-Alkaline I returned to my normal strength and size.

Personally I'm not a big fan of creatine/Kre-Alkaline/whatever because it made me equally as fat as it made me strong. I've also read that the reason why you retain water on these products is because the kidneys registers it as a toxins, so it tries to delute it with water. I can't imagine that this can be healthy for your kidneys.

I figure that it's better to play it safe when you're young even if you're not as "buff" as you want to be because when you're 50 years old you'll be happy that you're not have kidney or liver problems because of unregulated supplements you took in your 20s.

CR-5 it s the best creatine i have found to work. you don't have water retention and it 5 different blends all in one rapid realease capsul. its very pricy tho but its worth it

If you're set on taking creatine (that's a controversial topic for me, particularly because of my own issues though), creatine monohydrate is the way to go. Kre-alkalyn is crap, CEE is also crap. As far as brands, just make sure it is "Creapure." Different companies will manufacturer their own products but all of the good ones are creapure. NSI sells it on Vitacost.com for a very good price, $18.99 for 5,000mg I think.

people love to keep digging this 2 year old thread back from the death it deserved.

I'm curious how creatine made you 'fat' Kman? methinks you need to read the creatine sticky and re-educate yourself.

All I know is that after a month of taking Kre-Alkaline pills my belly got visibly bigger. It definitely helped me get stronger, but I was ultimately in worse shape after taking it than I was before.

I was also getting spurratic pains in my head, but that may have not been related to the Kre-Alkaline.

You either ate bad or it was just water retention, or both.

Well you know what, I take back my last comment...sort of.

CREATINE MONOHYDRATE has been studied a million times and shown to be effective.

Kre-alkaline hasn't been tested independently, so for all we know it doesn't do **** for fitness, and its only effect is bloating the stomach up with water.

I think Kman and I can both agree...Kre-alkaline is crap.
