Questions about working out

I have 2 questions:

1. When I work out, I feel a lot of pressure build in my head, often to the point of throbbing. My ears sometimes pop and I often have a headache after working out. In fact, this often makes me want to stop more than the fatigue in my muscles. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? I try to breathe while straining and I try to give breaks between muscle groups.

2. My schedule only allows for 3 workouts per week. I'd like to run and lift weights, so I need to do both each day within a couple hours. Should I work out first or run first?

I'm sorry to hear about the pressure building up in your head.. that's got to be a PITA every time you work out. I'd have a Dr. answer that for you though.

Regarding when to run? Do your weight training first and your running last. Hope this helps.

Do NOT hold your breathe man for starter. Breathe... To be safe, go consult a doctor to see how your blood pressure is like. If you suffer from hypertension, you really need to monitor it. Weight training does increase the blood pressure, fyi.

In the mean time, lower the weight and keep your breath movement properly. Inhale on easy movement and exhale during the heavy part of lifting.
