Question - Long Walk then Lower Body workout

I took a rest day today - it got darker faster than I thought.

Tomorrow (Sunday), I want to try to get some sort of exercise in. The road I usually go for a walk on is full of ice. The main road however, is clear and in perfect condition. The nearest village is 13km/8mi. It is also where the gym I workout is.

Next in my cycle is Lower Body Weight Training. Can I walk those 13km/8mi and still expect an effective workout or will my lower body be too fatigued?

I can only give you my opinion here...

It depends on the strength/endurance of your legs, but I would imagine it will be fine. I'd say you'd have much more trouble walking back! Do you have a bicycle? I would highly suggest using that before your workout than walking...

Either way, just try it and see how you go... you're not going to do any damage.

AutumnPolitics, thanks for your input. I have a bicycle but waiting until spring to pull it out. I need to get new wheels, and some straps for the pedals.

I think I am just going on a walking adventure today and see where it takes me. Save the weights for tomorrow. My problem is that I worry I won't get the weight training in, and have to start my cycle all over again. Working late shift (3pm-1am), it's hard to get to the gym before 3. I'll just duck out at 11:45pm, and workout from midnight to 1am.

If I ever walk to the gym, workout, and back, I'll document it here and in my journal.
