Question about my HR and what's healthy

Okay.... I'm a relatively fit girl, age 19, 5' 7", 135 lbs. I dance 6 days a week and workout at the gym at least two. However, I barely have to work to get my heartrate up. I will be barely jogging, not getting tired, and my HR is at 180. I definitely feel as though I could push myself harder because jogging at this level is not difficult. However, I know that a HR much higher than 180 can be dangerous. I find myself wanting to push myself further when working out but can still only manage a very slow jog to keep my HR down. Would working out harder be really dangerous even if I feel I can definitely do it? How do I change my body so that I can actually work out without my HR going through the roof? Anything you can tell me will be helpful. Thanks!!!!

Having an overactive heart could be something to be concerned about.. Are you on any meds? Perhaps you should speak to your doctor about this. Get your heart tested out make sure there are not other forces at work here.
