Question about dieting...

Adorable!

New member
Right now I weigh 180 and I want to get down to about 130-140. I have stretch marks on my breasts and hips, and I have been scared to diet for almost a year because I'm afraid of what my skin will do after I lose a lot of weight. So, can someone please please tell me what my skin will do. Like, does it stayed stretched out and sag, or does it contract normally and still keep the marks.

I'm really hoping it contracts, especially since I'm not that old. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

It all goes away over time. The stretch marks will begin to fill in within a few months, and the skin will gradually recede. It might take a year or two, but it will happen.

it depends on the person. you also have to take into account your age, if you've had children before, how much weight you're losing and how fast.

if you're young and haven't had children before, your skin will bounce back fairly well. it'll still have some elasticity in it. generally, I've heard you shouldn't lose more than 2 pounds a week... or then your body will have a tougher time "shrinking the skin." And forty pounds shouldn't be too much of a stretch for your body to recoop. Like more pounds (ie: 100 pounds or more) the body will have a more difficult time. but like imafatass said... it does take time. there is a possibility there might be some sagging in which case some people like to try to do exercises to help tone themselves and others go for plastic surgery (like tummy tucks).

Hope that answers your question!

If your lucky and young, your skin should have enough elasticity in it that it will tighten up as you loose. Exercise makes it also tighten up also. All this is a gradual process tho. In the meantime If your'e wanting to do something in addition with those scars, try some of the scar cream that's available anywhere and not too costly. If anything, it'll at least give you smooth, silky skin! :D Good luck!

Don't forget to drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated... dry skin isn't very elastic at all!

I'm young, so it might change things for different people, but when i went through puberty i gained and lost weight like crazy and fell victim to stretchmarks. Naturally, I thought the world was ending and i would never be beautiful again :p hehe. I had them on my boobs and my hips and everything. The happy ending to this story is that they went from bright ugly purple to almost invisible (the ones on my boobs are gone completely) when i found this oil, i dont know the name or anything, but there are oils and products (id only use all natural ingredients though) that definitly help with all kinds of skin marks and elasticity. Sadly, i got lazy so i never knew the end result if the marks ever completely disappeared..maybe i should look around again...anyway, my point (im sure i have them sometimes hehe..) is that there are oils out there to repair skin damage, you should have a look around...(and let us know!!! hehe:p )
