:waving:Morning everyone. Well I am fast approaching week 3's end and have started wondering exactly how long I should expect this to take?

How long did it take each of you? Did you have ANY deviations? Is there a way of "working" it out?

Looking forward to your replies!

Hi Jen

I haven't finished YET... but I am about 3 weeks away from picking up my refeed (earlier than planned, due to holidays).... but ...for me its been really really slow!! By the time I have finished it will be 11 months exactly... (still not at Goal, as far as I can tell).... however I have had some medical issues due to poor circulation and medications etc.

I think the thing that has really helped me is that I have used an Excel spreadsheet which "predicted" my end date based on my current rate of loss...I have always known that I was pretty slow and could SEE that I probably wouldnt be done until April/May. (If you want me to send you this spreadsheet just PM me).

Hope this helps?

Hi Jen,

I am almost at the final. Well I have some 8.3 pounds before reaching my original goal but at this stage I think I finally look as I want to. I have lost 62 pounds in 7 months and 1 week. I must admit that it is faster than recommended but I am too happy to moan about this. I had major mood swings all through the way and it was particularly difficult first 3 months when no one noticed my achivements despite the fact that I was losing extremely rapidly. My tip is just to stick to your plan and to ignore all the doubts you have. Usually after a horrible mood day with no lose, a very optimistic day comes with a good result as well. In the beginning it is difficult to believe in this pattern but I have seen it many times and now I don't freak out when the scales go up which happens often. Good luck with your project!

Please no-one take this to offense but I really hoped it would be quicker... I had given myself about 5 months. Am I way off?

HI Jen

I started Cohens the 11 Dec 2006 at 79 kilos and lost 6.4kg at my first 4 week weigh in.
My 2nd 4 wk weigh in recorded a loss of 4.2kg - the next was a loss of 1.6kg.
I started refeed on the 8th of March 2007 weighing approximately 66kg my refeed program was for 17 days (everyones is different) I finished the 23rd of March and lost a further 3kilos on refeed. My final weight was 63 kg.
So it took me about 14 weeks to lose 16kilos. This is the first time I have calculated the overall time period. I did have a few deviations during programe so perhaps I could have finished sooner.
My clinic I have to admit was a bit slack in recording my weights and I also never had a final visit with them before or after finishing refeed.
I think this is where they could or should supply us with a bit more info on maintaining our weight loss after program. This is all in hindsight of course.

Sam:)

I just started my third week yesterday. first week was quite good, I lost a total of 4kg. I had not weigh in yet (stayed over at my bf's place over the weekend and he does not have a scale) I suspect I only lose another 1.5kg or so. So probably total weight lost about 5.5. I started with 77.5 and my goal weight is 53-55 (though the clinic says 59-62, which I do not agree, after all I am Asian, smaller is better). I have bout 19 more Kgs to go, hopefully I can finish by April 23 my birthday! A bit ambitious, but i have not yet deviate.

Jen, I felt like you at the start & just wanted it all to be over. When you get into the swing of it it's not so bad. I lost 10kg first month so thought I would miraculously lose my weight in a few more months but, of course, was being totally unrealistic. I lost 36 kgs in 28 weeks, an average of 1.28kg a week. I have never known that to happen with any other "diet" or program. Cheers, Cate

Thanks everyone for answering. :)
