Sport PWO Question..

Are meal replacement shakes, Myoplex for example, good for PWO shakes? The reason I'm asking is b/c here is my schedule...

Meal 1 - 6:30 AM
Meal 2 - 10:00 AM
Workout - 12:00 PM
PWO shake (Meal replacement) - immedietly after workout (1:00 PM)
Meal 3 - 3:30 PM

More meals later, but my concern is around the workout. Should I switch to a normal protien shake + dextrose for PWO, and then eat immedietly after, or does this look OK. When I say immedietly after workout, it's just that... I make my PWO shake at the gym and drink it on my drive back to work. Meal 3 is not my last meal of the day, I just cut the schedule off in this post to save space!

Thanks for taking the time to look over this. I've been on the 3 meal a day plan for about 30 years now, so I'm still trying to iron out the kinks of a 6 meal a day plan.
 
ditch the MRP post workout. good protein + dextrose is really all you want, and it's cheaper. just put the powder and dextrose in a shaker cup in advance, then fill with water from the fountain on yer way out.
 
Thanks for the reply! One more question... I currently use ON's Whey, and I usually just use their recommended "one heaping scoop". I don't know the measurements per scoop off the top of my head (other than 24g protien per serving). How much dextrose should be added to that? Is it like a tablespoon, or more like 1/4 cup?
 
If your using 24g of protein you will want to double that in dextrose. So it would be 48g of Dex.

Yep, its a typo, he means 48g (LV and I are both cutting and low on carbs = bad math skillz)

ON scoop is 70cc. a 70cc scoop of dextrose is 45g, so conveniently a 70cc scoop of each is almost the perfect ratio.
 
I just used NOW 100% dextrose today like you guys recommended ... 2:1 ratio of dextrose and whey ..
but that thing is pure sugar heheh is that right ?? just to makesure .. I know dextrose is glucose (sugar)

so we take 80g of sugar just like that ??

Yep, post workout, your body wants simple carbs and protein...nothing more.
