Push-Ups/Pull-ups

How often can Push-ups and Pull-ups be done. I can't lift for 2 weeks because of lower back pain so I'm trying to mantain upper body strength. Should I do Push-ups and Pull-ups everyday or should I treat it like weight lifting and do it every other day?
 
Treat it like you are lifting weights...high reps but low weight so you would do them every other day as your muscles still need time to recover. Some people do them every day and eventually your body does gets aclimated to it since you aren't continously adding more weight like you would with a regular weight routine but since you are just doing it for a short time give yourself a day of rest in between..you can get a surprisingly good workout doing these if you know how..i alternate weight lifting with body weight training every couple of weeks so i dont get burnt out on one or the other.Also if you have a back injury be very carefull doing the pullups as these do put a small amount of strain on your lower back and core area...go slow and steady, form is way more important with these than reps.
