psyllium husk, multivitamin & fish oil

I take psyllium husk in the mornings and recently started (2 days ago) on fish oil and a multivitamin too.

Will taking psyllium at the same time effect the potency of the multivit tablet and fish oil softgel tabs?

I hope this question makes sense. I'm picturing the psyllium absorbing the dissolving multi and fish oil in my stomach and lowering the effectiveness of the tabs.

I doubt that would happen and if anything, it wouldn't effect the fish oil. But why are you taking Psyllium anyway?

On my bag of psyllium husks it says not to take within 2 hours of taking anything else. Im not real sure why, but im guessing it could hurt the absorption of the other pills.

Okay, just checking. As long you have a good reason. I don't know much about it, but I would imagine that you'd have to be taking a pretty significant amount for it to have that effect. Really not sure though, sorry.

Its pure fiber.

Its pure fiber.

I know. I meant I don't know much about how much fiber it takes to really start causing vitamin and mineral deficiencies. I mean the recommended amount by the ADA is 10-13 grams of fiber per 1000 calories. I think you can probably safely hit double that and be okay, provided it's coming from food and not supplements. Since yours is, it's a different story. I say that because, generally speaking, foods high in fiber will also provide more of the necessary nutrients, so you're adding more while the fiber takes some away. It's a trade off.

How much are you taking? Ultimately, it's a judgement call as there are no real decided TUL's for fiber intake and yours is from a supplement, not whole food.

How much are you taking?
About 1 to 1.5 heaped teaspoon in the mornings with about 240mL of OJ (OJ has no preservatives or added sugar).
