protein

i know ive seen this before but for some reason the search isnt workin. but anyways, ure suppose to consume a gram of protein for every pound of body weight correct? and i know ure suppose to rely mostly on whole foods and maybe one shake a day to make up anything, etc. etc. but am I correct about the gram/pound thing?

That's correct.. Unless you're very overweight, then it would be 1gram/lb of lean body mass.

I think 2 shakes a day is ok, but you shouldn't go over that. For some, its simply the most reliable/convenient way to get protein.
as long as you're also eating eggs, and different types of lean meat, you're good to go.

ok so let me just go over this real quick. im 160 lbs so i should be takin 160g of protein a day, correct? i should take this over about 5-6 meals spread through the day? so that would be 160 divided by 6 roughly 26 or 27g of protein per meal, i got that right? and am i going to gain a lot of fat as im doin this?

sry to ask so many questions but i just recently got kicked off my basketball team for grades so now im more into weights then i was when i was on the team. i was just liftin to stay cut for basketball but now that im off the team till spring or maybe later i thought i might as well get some more muscle gfoin, so weight lifting is my new interest.

Protein is 4cals/g, carbs are 4cals/g, fat is 9cals/g and alcohol is 7cals/g.

Depends on how you eat.
