protein supplements/shakes and women

as a woman, how much, if at all, should I be taking protein supplements?

I've been drinking Horley's Ripped protein shake before a workout, which includes cardio and some strength training, mainly my legs and butt. I'm not looking to gain mass, rather change my body composition and hopefully remain the same weight.
 
The rule that i use and have nested on people that lift with/under me is....1g per lb of body weight a day to stay at your current weight levels; and say you weigh 160lbs and wanna add 15lbs of muscle....take in about 180 or 190g a day. Sooooo, IMO take you desired weight in g a day.
 
protein supplement...steaks....chicken breasts...

its ALL protein. if you cannot meet the protein intake goal you should have already set, then yes, have a shake.
