Protein Shakes

I have learned recently that pineapples contain an enzyme that breaks down protein, thus allowing the muscles to absorb them much quicker. Is it beneficial just to add chunks of fresh pineapples to my protein shakes, or eat pineapples along with the shakes?
 
No. there's no reason a healthy person should 'need' to add pineapple to the diet to metabolize protein properly.

I think you're confusing the fruit's ability to tenderize meat with digestion.
