Weight-Loss Protein Shakes?

Weight-Loss

I'll keep this short and simple.

For four months I've been losing weight by cutting back calories to roughly 2,000 a day and exercising nearly every day. I've lost 40 pounds in four months.

My sister tells me if I drank a protein shake each morning, my body will more likely turn everything I eat that day into muscle and not fat.

My collective nutrition knowledge tells me this is BS, but I'd rather hear it from everyone else as well.

Thanks :biggrinjester:

To be honest I try to stick clear of those sort of things and get all my nutrional needs through eating the right foods.

Almost everything you eat or drink has calories. Calories are energy. Fat is stored energy. If you consume more energy than you can use, you will store it as fat. IOW, no... protein shakes don't perform miracles, especially if it means you're going to exceed your maintenance intake.

It's bullshit.

LOL! Ok, well, I guess THAT answered that! ;)
