Protein Shake Before or After Workout?

This is gonna sound rude, but it's not meant to be. This is asked almost every day, just use the search bar up top.

After. Post workout all of the time.
 
yeah but you want some sort of protein that will last longer , protein shake is a fast acting source of protein this is why it is best taken after a workout.
 
Dr. Berardi recommends starchy, high GI carbs with protien before and after, so a potato with a good chuck of beef before the workout, an hour wait, workout, and protein shake with a 2:1-4:1 ratio of carbs to protien should do it.

Even if its fast protein like whey the amino acid levels in the plasma doesnt rise the second you drink it and for the amino acids to start building up muscleprotein takes even longer.
