Sport Protein Shake as a snack, acceptable?

Sport Fitness
For the second meal/snack of the day which comes 2-3 hours after breakfast, do you think a protein shake is acceptable?

Here is the shake(meal) that I usually make, so tell me if it's acceptable. The ingredients of the shake are:

1 scoop 100% whey protein powder (strawberry flavor)
200-300 ml 100% strawberry juice (with no extra artificial sugars in it)
3 whole eggs

This way, I get the neccesary protein from the whey protein powder and from the eggs, the eggs also keep me full and make me not feel hungry, while the strawberry juice contains carbohydrates which aid the absorption of the protein. At least that is how I see it and make sense of it.

I might be wrong about this.. so any kind of criticism and suggestions are welcome.

well, 20g protein in the whey, another 18g in the whole eggs (shudder) and then a ton of sugar in the juice.

juice just really isn't a good route to take for fat loss. lots of sugar carbs in unsweetened juice, zero fiber, and its not very filling.

I'd lose the juice and eggs, and replace with some other whole food sources. a small bowl of oatmeal has fiber, more bulk so its filling, and the carbs are complex.

The thing is, I've read on several different occasions that protein when taken with diluted fruit juice or diluted carbohydrate liquid has much better absorption then when the protein is taken without carbs.
You're right that the Fruit Juice is packed with carbs, which is not good.

Maybe I should mix the protein powder with low-fat milk. Milk has 10g carbs in 100g... however I'm not quite sure how many of those are sugar carbs..

Most people on this forum would say that its fine to have this sugar from milk as it is naturally occuring, as long as it fits in your daily calorie requirements. I personally would say go for it, I love milk. But for some reason a lot of people here dont think milk is all that great.
