Protein Questions

Hey guys,

A few months ago I started weight training and have been going pretty good. I'm a skinny guy and have been suggested to take protein to gain mass and build muscle, so I went and bought some protein powder (Horleys Mass).

I bought it from a health shop and the woman there told me that after my weight training I should drink a sugary drink (like orange juice), then take a protein shake about 15 minutes after. However, on my workout instructions and on the tub itself it says to take it immediately after, so should I have that orange juice first or is that not necessary?

Also I was wondering if I should worry that the protein shake makes me urinate a lot after, I was hoping it wasn't just excess protein and passing it straight through. It also makes me really hungry, is this normal?

For the post-workout meal you need - Fast acting carbs(like simple carbs) and whey protein(which is also digested very fast).
Orange juice contains the simple carbs and the Protein shake contains the whey protein.
Orange juice contains fructose which is not ideal for Post workout, but I think it will still do the job.

If you have only orange juice and a protein shake, then take them both after your workout.

A better thing to do to do is to buy some dextrose, (It's a type of sugar, it's very cheap) and mix it with the protein .
1lb of dextrose can be found for 1$ or even less.
