protein questions

I bought a bag of "100% whey protein" strawberry flavor. I have heard of workout nutrition but don't know anything about it. Could someone explain what the concept of that is? Has something to do with what you eat before and after you workout.

With the whey protein when would be the best times to take it?

I expected this to be like a protein shake. I guess I bought the wrong product or no? It was more like a drink, wasn't thick or anything, except for the protein chunks that I must not have stirred well enough.

It actually tasted quite bad, I could taste the chunks of the protein in there, am I suppose to just stir it for like 10 minutes until it's all dissolved or what?

you must use a blender or shaker cup with 99% of protein powders out there. a spoon is not enough.

read through the site. we cover ALL aspects of nutrition, including pre and post workout nutrition.

I couldn't find any links on this site, this site has like 1,000,000 topics so it'd take a few months to sift through it all.

I did do a bit of research on post workout nutrition and it said i'm suppose to have x amound of protein, x amount of carbs, and x amount of amino acids after each workout to accomplish three goals.

? Increase glycogen stores
? Increase protein synthesis
? Decrease protein breakdown

He said that if you do endurance training I should have this food every 2 hours for six hours after my workout, for strength training you should eat it once after your workout I think he said?? Well I do both so should I just use the endurance model or what?

For example I did 30 minutes of jogging where my Heart rate was around 145-150, I don't know if this counts as endurance training but i'd assume it would. Should I follow his model then?

What foods have amino acids in them?

Gah so confused by all this stuff.

amino acids a bascially the building blocks of protein, so foods like meat and many animal products contain much of it.

im not sure about what else your askin about so ill leave it at that :p
