protein question

I just recently started working out again and bought some Met-Rx Whey Protein, and I had a few questions. I weigh about 175 with a little gut, should I continue to take the protein or will it make me gain unwanted weight. I take it twice a day, when I wake up and after my workout. Is this too much? Will the protein help me get "ripped" or just bulky?

its your total diet that can cause unwanted weight gain or get you ripped or just bulky.

the product is just protein in powder form. nothing else to it.

Some protein information for you that may be helpful. What is unwanted weight? Fat?

Your body can only absorb so much protein in one sitting (someone around 30-50g, no one knows how much and it will vary between individuals). This is why you want to space out your protein intake throughout the day.

Any excess protein that the body does not use for muscle repair or any type of cell growth, will either be used as energy for activity or converted and stored as fat.

If you want to get ripped you'll have to do more with your diet than simply take a protein supplement.
