Hey:
I am not sure if this falls in the contest area...
I have been in the process of losing weight...33 pounds since January...still have 50 to go...and found I respond really well to challenges.
So I decided to start something I am calling project freedom...running//riding//walking for those that cant. I am surrounded by vets all the time. So I am running April 28th in my first 5k. I am in training and still not able to run a full mile...
But I thought I would extend the challenge here to those that like challenges.
The project challenge looks like this.
You have to run for someone who cant. I am taking a veitnam vet who was wounded. He only has one arm and he will ride in his chair as I run the 5k.
Now it does not have to be a vet or wounded solider. For instance I lost my brother in 2006, he was only 44 years old. So i would run for him as well. It can be someone you know or someone you dont...just someone who cant. And they dont have to be their on that day, but it would be nice if they were.
Two classes:
1. Those who never ran or have ran in a long time. Our challenge is to run a race in April and do so without stopping. Post our times
2. Those who have ran before...pick a 5k or 10k in April. And come out with the best time. Post the results here.
Ok thats it...sorry no prices except for bragging rights...and the pride of running for someone who cant...and maybe I will put together a shirt or something?
